Resurrecting the REAL You!
Remember the Velveteen Rabbit book?
An ignored stuffed rabbit needed to be loved. The little boy who owned him but never played with him. One day, an awful thing happened. The boy was subjected to a contagious fever, and he became gravely ill.. The bunny was allowed into the boy’s bedroom to comfort him.. Finally bunny was good enough.
Sometimes bunny got hurt when the boy held him too tightly. And he began to look ratty and worn. But pain was better than being ignored. Love had its price.
The boy recovered. Bunny felt so wonderful. He finally belonged. He was grateful to be worthy of love. But tragedy awaited. The doctor ordered everything in the boy’s contagious room to be destroyed.
And then a miracle happened. Love conquered all. Bunny became real! A miracle of BECOMING.

Tips to discover what makes you real:
Get a cool journal and start writing your first memories
Write 5 feeling words to describe you as a kid. Then teen, Then adult.
Write what happened that caused you pain.
Write what happened that caused you joy?
Write what the word, “Free” means to you
BREATHE in love for yourself.

Identity. Introducing You to You!
Bariatric surgery isn’t for sissies.
Great for your body and health that you are losing weight!
But are you gaining YOU?
Maybe you are like Peggy. She had surgery, lost weight, and got depressed. As the pounds were erased, she thought she’d be happy. She mournfully related, “I lost my fat, but I lost myself, too!”

What self knowledge do you need to re-invent awesome less weight you?

Want to get re-acquainted with yourself?
Be patient with yourself. Life and weigh loss evolve.
Keep a journal of how you feel. What needs to change?
Write down your dreams.
Make a plan to achieve them. One at a time.
Give yourself specific little doable goals. Like walking 5′ or calling a friend.
Go gently. Rome wasn’t conquered in a day. You WILL get there.
