Focus on You, Not Food
Do you think focusing on yourself sounds selfish?
And why is your ATTITUDE towards health and well-being imperative to your weight loss success?
It struck me the other day that no matter what eating hassle or medical conditions you have, remarkable research indicates a fascinating bottom line:
Your success is so largely based on your ATTITUDE, not just your medical treatment. And I am not talking the old fashioned think positive stuff.
So let’s take a quick look at a terrific strength…OPTIMISM.
Optimistic, positive thinkers lose weight faster, stay slim longer, and get healthy quicker. Believing you CAN conquer the urge to eat is your first step to victory. And best of all, you may live longer!
This is major! But before I get ahead of myself here, as I will tell you much more about HOW to become more optimistic in an upcoming newsletter, let’s look at breaking news…
Positive Psychology, the new science focusing on how you can live your BEST LIFE, no matter how much you weigh, helps you identify and harness your unique strengths. And all strengths are of equal importance, none better than the other.
In each newsletter, I am going to help you understand your unique personality strengths and power them up. This is really cool! Your joy is my passion. I’ll be the one doing cartwheels as I hear you roar into confidence.
Recognizing what is positive and virtuous about yourself is truly uplifting.
No, it’s not selfish or bragging to become self-aware. Focus on what is RIGHT about you and watch your happiness blossom.
Please ditch a modesty attitude if you are still holding onto it.
Recognize your goodness and jack yourself up! Give yourself credit. You can give more to others when you recognize the good in wonderful you.
And better yet, positive self-focus and acceptance cuts down your urge to eat, especially emotional eating.
Develop a positive relationship with yourself and your obsession with food will diminish along with your waistline.
No beating yourself up allowed!
Love yourself and kick your inner critic to the curb. It takes work. Get started now.
Begin to notice your strengths. See if your strengths shoes fit. If they don’t, put them on for awhile anyway. Get comfortable. Soon they’ll feel like your cozy bedroom slippers.
Your ATTITUDE is yours. Why not make it positive?
My sincere hope is that you find the following poem as uplifting and inspiring as I did.
Attitude
There once was a woman who woke up one morning,
looked in the mirror,
and noticed she had only three hairs on her head.
Well,” she said, “I think I’ll braid my hair today?”
So she did
and
she
had
a
wonderful
day.
The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror
and saw that she had only two hairs on her head.
“H-M-M,” she said,
“I think I’ll part my hair down the middle today?”
So she did
and
she
had
a
grand
day.
The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror and noticed that she had only one hair on her head.
“Well,” she said,
“today I’m going to wear my hair in a pony tail.”
So she did
and
she
had
a
fun,
fun
day.
The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror and noticed that there wasn’t a single hair on her head.
“YEA!” she exclaimed,
“I don’t have to fix my hair today!”
Attitude is everything.
Be kinder than necessary,
for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
Live simply,
Love generously,
Care deeply,
Speak kindly…….
Leave the rest to God
